Beth C. Grossman

Beth Grossman Super Lawyer

Beth C. Grossman has extensive experience in all aspects of estate planning and estate and trust administration. She prepares comprehensive estate plans tailored to each client’s individual needs and goals. Beth is also a CPA and routinely draws on her tax expertise in the creation and administration of tax-efficient estate plans. She counsels high-net-worth individuals on sophisticated estate tax minimization and gifting strategies, which may include the use of irrevocable trusts or family entities to accomplish tax savings. On estate and trust administration matters, Beth works with fiduciaries and families to navigate the probate process, advise on post-mortem tax planning, and ultimately administer estates and trusts in accordance with the decedent’s wishes and all legal requirements.

Beth has been recognized by Super Lawyers as a Massachusetts Rising Star in Estate Planning and Probate (2018–present). She earned a BS in Accounting from Fairfield University (summa cum laude) and a JD from Boston College Law School (cum laude).

Acting separately as a CPA, Beth is a shareholder at Waldron H. Rand, the oldest accounting firm in the country. She focuses on estate, gift, and fiduciary income tax planning and compliance.

Prior to Beth’s current role, she was a partner at a boutique trusts and estates law firm. She has 15 years of experience in estate planning, estate and trust administration, and tax compliance matters. Before attending law school, Beth gained tax experience at KPMG in its Federal Tax Department.

Karen M. Newburg

Counsel

Karen M. Newburg has substantial experience in all aspects of estate planning and estate and trust administration. Her practice encompasses drafting estate planning documents, working with clients to implement their estate plans for trust funding and probate avoidance purposes, and guiding fiduciaries and families throughout estate/trust administration processes.  Karen is experienced in preparing estate tax returns, managing the probate process, including appearing in court proceedings, compiling estate and trust accountings, and facilitating estate asset valuations and property transfers. Karen collaborates directly with clients and their financial advisors on complex administrative and financial matters.

Before joining Beth C. Grossman Law in 2026, Karen was last a Senior Associate at a trusts & estates, family law, and business law firm with offices in five Massachusetts locations and New York. In this role, she managed the firm’s Estate Administration department while maintaining an active practice in estate planning and estate administration.  Earlier in her career, Karen held various Trusts & Estates Associate roles in Massachusetts and in Connecticut, and was an Estate Administrator at Hemenway & Barnes.

Karen earned her JD from Saint Louis University School of Law (cum laude, 2012), where she served as Staff Editor for the Journal of Health Law and Policy. She is admitted to practice law in both Massachusetts and Connecticut.

Stefanie Leonard

Paralegal

Stefanie Leonard is a dedicated paralegal specializing in estate planning and estate & trust administration. She provides comprehensive support to our firm’s attorneys practicing in wills, trusts, probate, and estate settlement.

Stefanie earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Northeastern University and completed her Paralegal Certificate Program at Boston University, where she gained specialized knowledge in estate and trust law. As a licensed Notary Public in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, she assists clients with executing essential legal documents for complex estate planning matters.

With a solid foundation in both legal theory and practical application, Stefanie applies meticulous attention to detail and a client-focused approach to her work. Her responsibilities include assisting with drafting legal documents, handling court filings, coordinating asset transfers, and maintaining organized case files to facilitate efficient estate settlement processes.

Stefanie’s commitment to precision and her understanding of the sensitive nature of estate planning work make her an invaluable resource to both the attorneys she supports and the families navigating legacy planning and estate administration.
